The Louisiana Growth Fund

The Louisiana Growth Fund is the direct investment vehicle of the state’s SSBCI initiative, Louisiana Opportunity Capital. We offer $250,000 to $1 million equity investments in high-growth, Louisiana-based startups—companies ready to scale and built for impact.

Here’s how it works: for every $1 you raise privately, we can match it with $1 in public capital—under the same deal terms. You bring the match. We help you go further.

What We Look For

We invest in companies that are:

• Louisiana-based C-Corporations (or ready to convert)

• Scalable business models generating revenue

• Seed to Series A stage companies

• Industry agnostic (excluding lifestyle businesses)

• Committed private match funding (from VCs, angels, family offices, etc.)

• Companies raising less than $20 million total in a round. This applies to both direct and fund investment paths.

How the Match Works

We match private capital on a 1:1 basis—up to $1 million per deal.
All investments are structured as Convertible Notes or Priced Equity (we don’t accept SAFEs).

To qualify:

Your private capital must be secured within 90 days of our investment close
The source must be an eligible private investor (no grants, loans, or crowdfunding)

Application & Timeline

The application is your required first step. Submissions are reviewed on a rolling basis. Due to high volume, please allow up to 3 weeks for a response.
If selected, the diligence process takes 4–6 weeks. Once approved and paperwork is complete, funding can be deployed in as little as one week.

Who's Behind the Fund?

The Louisiana Growth Fund is managed by Yellow Ventures, a venture firm contracted by Louisiana Economic Development. Yellow conducts diligence, negotiates terms, and makes investment decisions for the fund.
